"The King is Nothing Without His Queen" was inspired, clearly, by the queen’s power in chess. Once the queen is removed, the king's end usually is quite swift. This piece reminds me of the proverb, "behind every great man is a great woman." This piece was part of an exhibit on display in the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University. This piece was created with gouache and colored paper on Canson.
