The Press website needed reorganization and a redesign at the time I was hired. It had previously been designed in the early 2000s, and was updated by students from the IT department about once a year. I coded and designed the website in HTML and CSS. The Press does not have a logo, so I wanted to incorporate some elements of Carnegie Mellon, including the tartan background, Scottie dog bookend, and the red color scheme. The main navigation bar extends past the main content box to act as a bookshelf for the books and bookend images. The website includes information about the Press; book information organized by genre, which includes price, ISBN, page count, binding, description, author bio, reviews, and ordering information, including links to buy pages on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and our distributor; ordering information; rights and permissions information; and submission guidelines.
